Bigthink.com: Conversations about the BIG questions: Blog Question #5

I find that this site is quite issues in some things and really bad in other issues. It is good since I do feel that some people would like to discuss these deep topics such as love, poverty or the environment. In a way this site is used to let people express their opinions on a certain topic which may cause a reader's opinions to change as well in the process. With that this site is also trying to work for a good cause, trying to increase the attention spans of internet surfers. However most internet surfers already have a short attention span so if they do ever come across this site, I highly doubt that that they will attempt to look at this site. As for internet surfers and Youtube, Youtube attracts surfers easily as it offers a wide range of videos which could also include your own personal videos that you could share with other users from around the world. I feel that youths would rather not discuss these topics as we have certainly done many times at school. I agree that we do have short attention spans these days. But it can also be rather hard to express your opinions on the internet to people you don't know of.
Viewing one of these videos is quite difficult since I, for one have a short attention span. Well, I have attempted again and at that time I wasn't even sure if I fully understood what was happening as I had my mind trail off. I feel that this site could help in your education but it can also be quite hard since if you already have a short attention span, it will be hard to fully process all the information in your head.
Overall, my answer is a yes. I feel that this site is for a good cause and with a site like this it could also somehow achieve its goal in expanding short attention spans.
