Pirating, Me Maties!: Blog Question #3

With advances in technology, pirating has become one of the most popular ways to view movies or listen to music that has not yet been released or are being sold illegally. It has evolved tremendously on the internet, whether it's downloading movies, music, shows or even pictures. This practice is illegal and yet millions of people continue to do this. It has endangered the entertainment industry, in terms of finance. Now a days you hardly see people go out and buy or rent movies and music, this would be because it is so simple to get what you want to watch or listen with a click of the mouse without any cost.
Many people use programs such as Napster, Bit Torrent and Limewire to download music, movie etc. I'd be a hypocrite if I say that it's wrong to download, but I'm one of those millions of people who uses Limewire to download music free at charge. Everyone knows it is wrong to participate in these acts but we still tend to continue it. Despite the fact that it takes money away from the people within the entertainment industries.
The easy access that enables us to download or buy all these pirated movies, music, shows, etc. is so easy for us to take advantage of to save money and what not. There are a wide range of sources of these pirated items that it can be hard to resist what we can easily have. Many other reasons why people may have downloaded something, particularly a song is because if they ever do buy an album from the store, they only wanted to listen to that one song thus so they are saving money by just downloading. I have to say although it may be wrong to take part in this practice, I still take advantage of it mainly because its free of charge and I could do it in the convenience of my own home.
